Independent evaluation of accessible machine layers on laser powder bed fusion and direct metal printing equipment: recoater and motion hardware, gas-flow and filter interfaces, cooling, controls, safety, and source or scanner interfaces where the architecture and authorization permit.
LPBF machines combine one or more lasers and scanners with a recoater, build platform motion, controlled gas flow, filtration, cooling, industrial controls and a safety chain. A build interruption can begin in any one of those layers.
PhaseX evaluates the accessible machine subsystem and documents what can be established. The service boundary is deliberately narrower than the machine: proprietary optics, calibrated scan-field geometry, licensed parameter software and validated material recipes remain with the machine builder and owner.
PhaseX can evaluate accessible recoater and motion hardware, build-platform drives and feedback, gas-flow and filter interfaces, cooling, vacuum/purge hardware, controls, communications, I/O and safety chains, plus accessible source and scanner interfaces where authorization and architecture permit. We do not open sealed optical modules, perform OEM scanner calibration, modify licensed build parameters, qualify a material/process, or certify a printed part. Powder control, material lots, build qualification and part acceptance remain with the owner.
Confirm machine generation, laser count, material history and installed peripheral package.
Confirm serial, laser/scanner configuration, gas circuit and powder-management arrangement.
Confirm printer module, removable print module, material-management and control configuration.
Confirm 1-, 2- or 4-laser configuration, Recirculating Powder System and installed options.
Confirm machine generation, laser/multilaser configuration and peripheral equipment.
Send machine, source/scanner, controls, gas system and peripheral nameplates. Unlisted does not mean excluded.
Model families are included for equipment identification from manufacturer sources. PhaseX is independent and does not claim OEM authorization, proprietary calibration access or serviceability of every module.
A symptom routes the evaluation; it does not diagnose a failed part.
Before field work, the customer confirms in writing that powder has been removed or contained as required, the chamber and work area are in a safe state, purge and inert-gas conditions are understood, and site EHS requirements have been communicated. PhaseX does not take custody of metal powder or choose its handling method.
Build parameters, material release, powder-lot disposition, process qualification and acceptance of aerospace, medical or other certified parts remain with the owner and its approving authority. A PhaseX machine report is not a build or part certificate.
The customer must confirm in writing that powder is removed or contained as its procedure requires, the chamber and work area are safe, purge and inert-gas conditions are understood, and site EHS requirements have been communicated.
We can evaluate accessible power, communication, cooling and machine-side source or scanner interfaces where the architecture and authorization permit. We do not open sealed optical modules or perform proprietary OEM scan-field calibration.
No. Licensed build parameters, material and powder-lot disposition, process qualification and acceptance of aerospace, medical or other certified parts remain with the owner and its approving authority.
Send the exact machine model and generation, serial number, laser count, last material, written powder and chamber status, exact alarms, and the recoater, gas, filter, cooling and peripheral configuration.
Five fields to start, and no obligation either way. We reply with an assessment and, where site or bench work makes sense, a written scope and a fixed fee for your approval.
