OEM and distributor field service support

Independent U.S. field-service support for equipment manufacturers, distributors and importers. We attend the machine as your subcontractor, under your agreement with your customer, and you receive a written field report after every visit. Installation and commissioning, system evaluation, accessible field repair, operator handoff, and a clear recommendation on parts and the next step. Across the United States and Canada.

Who this is for

Three situations bring manufacturers and distributors to an independent field service company, and they are different problems.

A manufacturer selling into the United States without a field organisation here needs attendance at an installation, a commissioning visit or a warranty call, in a region where the travel bill decides whether the visit happens at all. A distributor or importer with a growing install base needs coverage that is thinner than the install base has become, in regions where the next machine is a flight away. A machine builder with its own service team needs a second pair of hands during a shutdown week, or in a state nobody is near.

In all three the equipment is yours, the customer is yours and the commercial relationship is yours. What we add is a technician on site under your scope, and a written record you can act on.

We sell no machines, so we are not across the table from you.

What we cover in the field

Work is carried out to the service documentation you supply, within the scope you set.

What belongs to you stays with you. We do not decide the acceptance criteria, we do not change a configuration you have not approved, and we do not modify a machine beyond the scope in writing.

What the OEM receives after each visit

The deliverable is a written field report, in a form you can forward to your customer without editing it. It records what was established and what was delivered.

The blank template of this report is published so you can see the deliverable before you engage anyone: download the blank field service report template. It is a plain-text file, published in English only, and it carries no settings, parameter values, measurement points or test order.

The report says what was found and what was done. It is not a procedure: how the work is carried out stays between the engineer and the documentation you supply, and we do not publish it. If your own quality system needs a particular report format, send it and we will work in yours instead of ours.

How the commercial side works

Every item here is settled in writing before the first dispatch, because a field service relationship that depends on goodwill fails on the first difficult job.

We make no response-time commitment on a public page. A schedule is something we agree for a specific request, and then hold.

Where our authority ends

This matters more in an OEM relationship than anywhere else on this site, so it is stated plainly.

We are an independent service company. We are not the authorized representative, authorized service centre or certified partner of any manufacturer, and attending a machine under your agreement does not make us one. We act in your name only as far as a written agreement says, and never beyond it.

We hold no manufacturer spare-parts channel and we issue no manufacturer warranty. Where a job needs manufacturer authority, manufacturer parts or a warranty decision, that part stays with you or with the manufacturer, and we say so before the visit rather than after it.

PhaseX Laser Services is an independent service provider and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or authorized by any manufacturer. Manufacturer, brand and model names are used only to identify equipment.

Questions manufacturers and distributors ask

Can you attend our customers in our name?

Yes, by written agreement. Where you ask for white-label attendance we appear as your field service, under your agreement with your customer, and the report comes back to you rather than to the customer. What we may and may not say on your behalf is set in that agreement before the first dispatch. Without such an agreement we attend as an independent service company and say so.

Are you an authorized service centre for the equipment you attend?

No. PhaseX Laser Services is an independent service provider. We are not an authorized service centre, certified partner or factory-trained representative for any manufacturer, and attending a machine under your agreement does not make us one. Where a job needs manufacturer authority, manufacturer parts or a manufacturer warranty, that part belongs with you or with the manufacturer, and we say so in writing before the visit.

Will you approach our customers after the visit?

No, where a non-solicitation clause is in the agreement, and we are willing to sign one. Your customer stays your customer. We work on your introduction, report to you, and do not use the visit as a route to a direct relationship. If the customer approaches us independently we tell you.

What does a visit cost?

Rates are agreed in writing before anyone travels, and we do not publish them on this page because they depend on the agreement, the region and the equipment. You receive either a fixed-scope price or a staged proposal, with travel treated as its own line, and nothing starts until you approve it.

How quickly can you be on site?

We make no response-time promise on a public page, because a promise that ignores distance and engineer availability is worth nothing to you. Urgent attendance is arranged per request: you tell us what is stopped and where, and we come back with the earliest date we can actually hold, together with what it costs to hold it.

Can you support our own product family?

After documented training, yes. Where you train our engineers on a product family and record that training, we support that family within the scope the training covered. Before that, what we offer on your equipment is installation, commissioning support, system evaluation, accessible field repair and reporting, carried out to the service documentation you supply.
