Busbar welding, cell and module sealing, tray lines and stator welding run on one hardware stack: a fiber source, programmable optics, a fixture, a sensor interface and a controller. When one of them stops, a line stops with it.
Strip away the application and a battery welding station is a familiar stack. A fiber source, often selected for how a particular metal behaves at a particular wavelength. Beam delivery to either fixed optics or a programmable scanner. A fixture that holds the parts in a repeatable relationship. A sensor or vision interface that gates whether the cell runs at all. A controller tying them together, and extraction keeping the enclosure clear.
Copper and aluminium joints, can-to-cap sealing, tray assembly and hairpin stator work all sit on variations of that stack. The metallurgy differs; the service object does not.
What the line reports, in the words the operators use:
In scope: the fiber source with its power supplies, driver and control electronics and thermal hardware; beam delivery, including the cable and connector assembly; fixed optics and programmable scanners with their drive electronics; the fixture and handling hardware; the sensor and vision interfaces as electrical and optical devices; the cell controller and its I/O; interlocks and the safety chain; extraction and filtration.
Not in scope: weld procedure qualification and the production record. Whether a joint meets your specification, and the evidence that it does, is yours. We service the machine that makes the joint and we do not sign for the joint.
A fixed evaluation fee, quoted before travel. We take the cell as found - the real configuration, not the documented one - and report in writing: findings, proposed scope, repair against replacement against a routed partner, and the commercial options. Production records and qualification stay in your quality system; we do not touch them and we do not ask to.
Enough to answer you properly, and nothing that needs the machine opened.
We do not promise a specific repair before diagnosis, and we do not certify equipment to original published specifications where the original acceptance data and the corresponding standards are unavailable.
PhaseX Laser Services is a registered DBA of CoreX Robotics Services LLC and an independent service company. We are not an authorized service centre, agent, representative or affiliate of any manufacturer named on this page, and we do not perform manufacturer warranty work. Brand and model names identify equipment only and remain the property of their respective owners. Work on equipment under an active manufacturer warranty is performed only within a scope authorized in writing by the equipment seller or manufacturer.
On every route: the machine is the deliverable, the process result is the customer's. PhaseX does not qualify a weld, a deposit, a cleaned substrate, a scribe or a cut.
Work is carried out to the site rules and the laser safety arrangements in force at your facility. The Laser Safety Officer is designated by the employer, never by PhaseX; hazard classification, nominal hazard zone determination and any compliance opinion stay with your own officer.
Sometimes, on a station that can be isolated, and only under your lockout and permit system. Where it cannot be isolated, a proper evaluation needs the cell stopped, and we will say so rather than produce a report built on what could be seen between cycles.
It might not be, and that is worth establishing before anyone spends money. Incoming material, surface condition, fixture wear and part presentation all move a result without anything on the laser side having altered. Our evaluation reports the state of the hardware; it does not pronounce on your process.
No. Weld procedure qualification and the production record are yours, and they have to be: they are part of the evidence you give your own customers. We service the equipment and we report what we found in it.
Yes. Where a subsystem belongs with its maker we say so and route it, rather than hold a machine hostage to the idea that one firm must do everything.
Five fields to start, and no obligation either way. We reply with an assessment and, where site or bench work makes sense, a written scope and a fixed fee for your approval.
