Han's Laser causes a specific, repeatable confusion in North America: the same brand appears on the laser source, on the complete machine and on marking systems inside packaging lines. Three different kinds of equipment, one label.
Han's Laser Technology Industry Group is a group rather than a single product line, and it builds across the field. In North America the name turns up in three distinct places, and the service conversation is different in each.
On a laser source. The questions are source questions - output, delivery, control and interface - and the page that answers them is laser source repair.
On a complete cutting machine. Here the name is on the frame, and the source and head inside it may be from the same group or from somebody else entirely. That is the imported-machine situation, and the three-manufacturer split is covered on our imported fiber laser machine page.
On a marking or coding system in a production line. Here the machine is part of a line, the failure usually surfaces as a code quality or verification problem rather than as a laser problem, and the page that covers it is packaging coding and marking.
So the first thing we will ask is which of those three you have. Tell us in your first message and the reply is useful immediately.
Han's is a very large manufacturer with a real international presence, which makes this a different situation from a machine whose importer has disappeared. What owners here run into instead is distance: response times measured against a production schedule, a support route that runs through a regional office, and older platforms that have moved down the priority list.
That is a reasonable thing for a large manufacturer to do and a bad thing to be on the receiving end of when a line is stopped. An independent company is useful here not because it knows the platform better than its maker, but because it can be on site, look at the whole machine including the parts the manufacturer did not build, and put a written scope and a fixed fee in front of you this week.
Han's equipment is accepted for evaluation and service in all three of the forms above - source, complete machine, and marking or coding system in a line - on site across the United States and Canada, or on a bench where a subassembly is better looked at off the machine. Including platforms out of production and machines bought second-hand with no documented history.
PhaseX Laser Services is an independent service company. We are not an authorized Han's Laser service centre, agent, representative or affiliate, we do not perform manufacturer warranty work, and where equipment is under an active manufacturer warranty we work only within a scope authorized in writing by the seller or manufacturer. The name and the model designations are theirs and identify equipment only.
The two standing limits apply here as everywhere: no promise of a specific repair before diagnosis, and no certification to original published specification where the original acceptance data and the corresponding standards are unavailable.
Both are possible, and that is the normal confusion with this brand. Photograph the plate on the machine frame and the label on the laser source separately. On most machines those are two different manufacturers; on this brand they are often both this one.
Yes, and it is a genuinely different kind of job. A marking system in a line usually fails as a code-quality or verification problem rather than as a dead laser, and it is covered on our packaging coding and marking page.
Sometimes you should not - if the unit is in warranty, go to them. What an independent company offers is a written scope and a fixed fee now, on the whole machine rather than only the parts they built, and without a commercial interest in selling you the next machine.
That is a large part of what we do across every brand on this site. Send the designation from the label and we will tell you what can be established about it.
Five fields to start, and no obligation either way. We reply with an assessment and, where site or bench work makes sense, a written scope and a fixed fee for your approval.
